By car. The valley "Østerdalen" is located between the old and worn mountains of South - East Norway. Glomma river is running through this valley. Along the river there are the railway from Kongsvinger - Trondheim and Highway 30. The distance from Oslo to Kvennan Camping is about 370 km, roughly 4 to 5 hours driving. The roads are usually very quiet. Public transport. You can reach Kvennan Camping also by train. Both in Tynset and Tolga there is a railway station. From Oslo - Gardermoen airport the journey by train will last approximately 4 hours. There is also an excellent connexion by bus. From this aerial picture you can get a good view of how the camping is situated next to the riverside. Near the water there are places for your tent or caravan, and there are some cabins too. On the other side of the road you can find the kiosk, and some more cabins. On both sides of the road there is a toilet building. « top |

In all there are 20 cabins available. Depending on the location and the amount of beds prices vary between 200 NOK (2 beds) and 800 NOK (6 beds) per night. In the cabins there are bunk beds, there is a refridgerator, a cooking stove and heating of course. In some cabins there is also a bath room and toilet. Several cabins are equipped with a veranda, and the cabins near the river have campfire sites. |

Bedding can be rented from the kiosk, 50 NOK per night. Chopped wood for making a nice and warm fire can also be bought in the kiosk. « top |

Campers, caravans and shelters On the riverbank there is room for roughly 30 caravans, campers and tents. Prizes vary between 70 NOK per night for a small tent and car and 135 NOK for a caravan with tent. There is electricity available for 35 NOK per night. International plugs are available. |

Of course you can make a small fire at the designated fireplaces next to your tent. When you have caught a fish, it's really nice to roast it on the fire. Just add a little salt and pepper, some butter over it, take a glass of wine with it - you will have a three star meal on the banks of the Glomma. « top |

In the middle of the camping site there is a new and modern toilet building, equipped with kitchen, washing machine and dryer, ladies and gents showers, etc. On the other side of the road there is another toilet building with almost the same facilities. In the kiosk you can get some basic food supplies such as bread, milk and eggs, candy, and some fishing materials. Here you can also find information about the surroundings. « top |
